What's the catch?

Domain names are registered for specific periods of time, after which they need to be renewed. After the first free year, you'll need to renew your domain name with our registrar or the registrar of your choice. Domains are usually $7 - $17 per year to renew.

You do! For as long as you keep your registration current, you'll retain full legal ownership of your domain name. Grassroots.org does not own your domain name for you; in fact, we make every effort to make sure you don't forget to keep it renewed every year!
